BERTRAM/BUTRAM Descendants and Researchers --

Friends of the Richard Bradley Cemetery ...

February 28, 2010 we met at Yanni's Grille in Sparta for lunch and a meeting to elect officers and to draft by-laws for the maintenance and preservation of this quaint, historic cemetery. Everyone with ancestors buried in the cemetery, and their spouses, are automatically members of the Richard Bradley Cemetery Association. The membership includes descendants (and spouses) of the Richard Bradley family, and the two Revolutionary War soldiers -- Henry Marsh, and William Butram. It was agreed that open meetings would be held bi-annually with a visit to the cemetery and an opportunity for a meal to socialize together and to exchange family history. We may call these REUNIONS as that is what they are intended to be.

Our Spring 2010 Reunion will be held Saturday, June 26th. Please mark the date on your calendar now. Details will be sent later. Drop me a note if you are coming a distance and wish help locating an overnight accommodation in the area. There are several nice motels in Cookeville and McMinnville. Sparta has one small independent motel which was adequate when we last stayed there a few years ago.

It would be nice to decorate the cemetery with flowers and flags when we visit. It makes the living feel good but also reminds the land owners that we really care about the old historic graves located in the middle of their pasture near Sparta, White County, Tennessee.

The cemetery is supported by contributions. You may send them to:
