Jane Coleman to Mahala Coleman - Deed Book H page 26 & 27 (1850)

This indenture made and entered into this 30th day of April 1850 between Jane Coleman of the county of Hickman and the Commonwealth of Kentucky of the first part and Mahala Coleman of the County & Commonwealth aforesaid of the second part witnesseth that the said party of the sum of Forty Dollars ($40) in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath this day bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part all her right, title and interest in and to the following description tract of land, to wit: Being a part of the Northwest quarter of Section 35 Township two & Range Three West, Beginning at a Black Oak being the South west corner of said quarter section thence north forty poles to a stake, thence east thirty poles to a stake thence south forty poles to a stake thence west forty poles to the beginning containing ten acres more or less. Situated in county and state aforesaid and being the south part of the tract of land conveyed by George Haynes to the said Jane Coleman on the 25th day of Dec. 1839 the residue of the forty acres not conveyed to Mary B. Coleman. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land and all of its appurtenances unto the said party of the second part and her heirs forever. and the said party of the first part for herself, her heirs, interest, right and title to the aforesaid tract of land unto the said party of the second part her heirs and assigns doth hereby warrant and will forever defend the same against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons. whatsoever, in witness whereof the said party of the first part, hereunto let her hand and affixed her seal the day and date above written. State of Kentucky, Hickman Co., I, ______ Taylor, clerk of the county Court for the County aforesaid do certify that the written deed from Jane Coleman to Mahala Coleman was on the 30th day of April 1850 produced to me in my office and acknowledged by the said Jane Coleman to be her act and deed whereupon said deed with this certificate hath been duly admitted to record in my office given under my hand this 14th day of May 1850. _____Taylor, clerk by Dick Taylor, DC
