A SAD MESSAGE

The Union neighborhood was shocked last Wednesday by a telephone message announcing a fatal accident to Lucien Dickerson, Jr. in the Big Four railroad yards in Cincinnati, where he was employed as switchman. Young Dickerson had turned the switch for an approaching engine and stepped back out of its way directly in front of an engine that was approaching him from the rear. He was knocked down and killed instantly, his body being cut in two. The unfortunate young man was the son of Lucien Dickerson, of Union neighborhood and was in his 25th year. G. G. Blanton, undertaker at Erlanger, was sent after the body which he prepared for interment and brought home to the grief stircken parents.
