Elizabeth Carpenter GRIFFITH

Mrs. Elizabeth Griffith, of Boone County, Ky., died suddenly of heart disease at her residence Nov. 10th, 1873. aged 55 years.

The ways of providence are often dark and mysterious to us.What He does we know not now, but shall know hereafter. May God deal mercifully with the desolate household; may He bind up the wounds of the broken-hearted husband, and wipe the tears from the eyes of her weeping children, for He alone can administer comfort in so great an amation. We, her loving relatives and friends, can indulge the glorious hope of the christian, of again meeting her in heaven above, where sin and sorrow, disease and death shall be felt and feared no more.

What is home without a mother?
What are all the joys we meet,
When her loving smile no longer
Greets the coming of our feet?

E. A. B.
