My Great Grandfather is John Robert Tindal (b.July 4,1871 Taylorsville, KY - d.May 6,1961 Austin, MN). He had at least two sons who lived in the Shelby County area. Mose Tindle (b.about 1893), and Thomas Tindal (b.October 5,1892 KY - d.April 12,1969 KY ). Thomas was married to a woman named Effie. The remaining six of John Roberts children moved to Minnesota. John Robert also had brothers and sisters in Kentucky. Mose E Tindle (b.July 22,1879 Taylorsville, KY - d. David Jr was married in 1815 TO Rachel BLUNK in Henry County and died in 1817 in KY (no county named).Since they were both young men at the time of their death, David Sr was 45, and since they died the same year, I am wondering if maybe they died at the same time, perhaps due to some accident or epidemic. It is known that Stephen and Sally had a son in 1888 in Frankfort Ky, James Alvin TICHENOR and in 1889/90 Bessie Dee TICHENOR. Stephen is buried in the Frankfort cemetery. Do not have any information on Mary THOMAS and do not know if there were children from that union. Jun 1957 I am also told : Susan Leah Smith had a sister, Lula, who married a John SMITH. They had a son named Keen SMITH. The BURT - SMITH family had roots in the Simpsonville, Ky., Shelby county area, and/or Crestwood, Ky., Oldham county area. Thomas P. BURT could have possibly been from Indiana. The BURT family moved to Sangamon county, IL., in the New City area, which is just south of Springfield, IL., where they resided on a farm. I do not know the exact date, but I estimate around 1900-1903 Their daughter, Clinte BURT, married Royal H. White in Springfield, IL, at the First Christian Church, estimated date, 1905-06. QRYTEXT:Seeking information on the BRACKETT and WHITESIDE families living in Shelby county in 1800. John BRACKETT and wife (possibly Phebe DAVIDSON). John died in 1818. A Phebe appeared in the census as head of household in th 1820 census. A John and Phoebe (b. 1763, whose parents were Joshua DAVIDSON and Sarah OWEN) were married in Prince Edward County, VA in 1795. Isaac WHITESIDE visited relatives living in Shelby County while "on his way to join other WHITESIDE families in IL, and remained there the rest of his life." Issac's grandmother was Elizabeth BRACKET, married to Samuel WHITESIDE, whom I believe was related to this John BRACKETT.

QRYTEXT:Looking for information on information about the descendants of Robert SCOTT who was born 1750/1760 In Rowan Co., North Carolina. He married about 1775 in South Carolina or Tennessee. The family lived in Tennesse, before arriving at Jefferson Co., Kentucky by 1 Jun 1791 when he paid taxes. When Shelby Co., Kentucky, was formed in 1792, Robert SCOTT's property lay within the bounds of Shelby County. When the 1810 Census was taken, Robert SCOTT and his family were living in Henry Co., Kentucky. He had four sons and two daughters. Sometime between 1810 and 1820 the family removed to Waterloo, Fayette Co., Indiana, where he died about 1831. Descendants lived in Fayette Co., Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Warrick Co., Indiana, Pike Co., Indiana, and elsewhere.

QRYTEXT:I am seeking information on Peter HUGHEY and his wife-Rachel RYKER, Rachel's parents and sibblings. I only know Rachel's father to be Samuel RYKER, mother unknown to me. Peter HUGHEY was the son of Joseph HUGHEY and Mary MILLER. Joseph HUGHEY had been a sheriff of Buncombe County, North Carolina prior to moving his family to Shelby County, Kentucky. Peter HUGHEY was born in 1798 in Buncombe Co., NC. but married Rachel RYKER about 1818/20 in Shelby Co., Ky., where they resided about 2 years. Rachel must have been born about 1800 in Shelby Co., Ky. as well as Peter and Rachel's 1st child about 1820. About 1820/21 Peter moved his family to Jefferson County, Indiana where several children were born. About 1840 Peter moved his family to Asheville, Buncombe Co., NC where he died about 1865. Rachel must have moved with a cild to Eureka, Kansas where she died and is probably buried.

 I am also seeking information on Pinkney M. CORUM and his wife-Susan Elizabeth MICHAEL(s), parents, sibblings, etc. Their child-Bertha Louise CORUM is my husband's grandmother. I have no names for her sibblings. According to Bertha's death certificate, Bertha was born 3/31/1885 in Laurel Bloomery, Johnson Co., Tennessee. Susan was born in Laurel Bloomery, TN., also but I have no date-just an estimate of 1840/60. I estimate the birthdate of Pinkney to be about 1840/60 also, birthplace to be Kentucky. Bertha married Benjamin Boone ASHLEY 3/6/1901 in Abingdon, Washington Co., Virginia where several of their children were born. They later moved to Johnson City, TN. where several children were born. Then the move to Opalocka/Miami, Dade Co., Florida where Bertha died 11/15/1949. However she was buried in Black Mountain, Buncombe Co., NC. Benjamin then moved to Buncombe Co, NC. but died while on a train ride back to NC from FL after the sale of his property. Death occurred 6/23/1951 in Jessup, Wayne Co., Georgia and burial was also in Black Mtn., NC. There was a problem with Bertha's burial because of some Native American Indian bloodline. She had the dark blue-black hair, dark eyes, had the typical Indian features and skin coloring which was very evident of Indian lineage. However, we know the line to be Cherokee but without any names. Since Pinkney M. CORUM was born in Kentucky (exact location known yet), I thought He may have some roots in Shelby Co. If not, maybe someone could help me anyway.
