Brian, or whoever?

I think I may have figure out who the James and "lelia"

are..could they be the people we think are Delia and James and

someone screwed up somewhere and thought the L was a D. Geez if

that's true it make alot of sense because there were these two

people I couldn't figure out why in the heck they were buried

there? I have pictures of a couple named "Lee" and James" on the

back of the photos...DUH!!! These are Lelia and James Parton the

father of Matthew and grandfather to John W. Parton my

grandfather's father. Did I just make some sense? Now where are

all the other Parton brother's children and such? Maybe not since

the dates are a bit later. Any suggestions?

Between the years 1820-1850 Wells [Wellsley W. PENNINGTON and

wife, Elizabeth STRUNK] are living in Whitley, Wayne & Pulaski

Counties, KY. I believe that the boundaries just keep changing,

not that they moved. Wells, 69, was born in NC, according to 1850

KY Census, and Elizabeth STRUNK, 71, was born in Maryland. These

ages are UNPROVEN by me. It is believed that they moved from Ashe

Co, NC [possibly between 1810 but prior to 1820]. One of their

children, Theophilus, was born in NC ca 1802.

I am searching (a) for other researchers of this line, (b)father

of Wells, (c) known siblings of Theophilus, (d)any information on

this PENNINGTON group, (e)any information on this STRUNK group,

(f) parents and/or siblings of Elizabeth STRUNK.

I have more information to exchange with other researchers. Thank

Archibald Dick is probably a brother of Samuel Dick and John Dick

JR. John Sr was a surity for the marriage bonds of both John Jr

and Arichibald. They all located in Pulaski Co in about 1805,

based on the property tax records.

Samuel who ties to my line, was born on 11 Oct 1782 in Chester,

South Carolina. He married Nancy "Frankey" Allen in March 1805.

I have the property tax records, marriage bonds, and 5 volumes of

deeds. I would be happy to provide references to what I have if

you wish. I would suggest that you check for a will for John Sr.

If it does tie the whole group together I would appreciate the

Ida Parton was born in 1891 and died in 1974. Her mother was

Celia Balzora Leigh and her father was Matthew Floyd Parton.

Celia Balzora Leigh's mom and dad were Antoinette Balzora and her

father was Henry Leigh or Lay. Matthew Floyd Parton's parent's

were Delilah Henderson and James Parton. Having trouble going

back to Delilah's folks or James Parton's folks. BUT it is said

that MacKinley Kantor's (Andersonville author) mother and James

Parton were brother and sister. So if I could find out who

MacKinley's Kantor's wife's parent's were I be a step further.

James Parton and Delilah Henderson had Sara Parton who married

Zachariah Ray.. Elizabeth Parton (one of my namesakes) married

John W. Long., James Riley Parton married Elizabeth Van Diver.,

Marshall William Parton ..I think died in a war Joseph A Parton

married Elizabeth Ann Meece., Charles Marion Parton married

Elizabeth Lawson (Hudson)., Matthew Floyd Parton (who is my great

great grandpa) married Celia Balzora Leigh and that had Charles

Parton who married Margaret A. WOodall , John W. Parton (my great

grandpa) who married a Dora Helton (or Hilton), Ida Parton who

later married Noble Loveless, Ellsworth Parton, Louis Green and

Clora Parton who married Henry Bogle. Ida and Nobel had a little

child named Kit...I have a picture of my g.aunt Ida holding him.

I actually have about five or so pictures of my Aunt Ida. She was

The Census taker took the age as of June of the year, no matter

what month he took the information. So if he came around in

August and they had just had a 21st birthday, the age on the

census would be 20, his age in June.

Hello,

I ran across your name and thought you might know of a name I

have been searching for. My Grandmother was born in Casey Co. Ky.

In 1885 her name is Cora Lee Bryant I have been trying to find

out who her mother was . In a marriage bond record I found her

father Perry Bryant and Arminta J. CAIN marriage On Dec. 30,1884.

But in the 1900 census he is listed with a Jane Frederick and

Cora at that time would have been 14 yrs of age but on the census

it lists her as 15. Grandma Coras birthday was Nov. 26,1885 And

the census record I think was taken in August. I am so confused

as to who this Arminta J. Cain is whether she was Cora's mother

or was Jane Frederick? Also on Cora's death certificate it list

Jane as her mother but I as yet haven't seen her and Perry's

marriage record.

I would appreciate any light if you could shed on Arminta J.

CAIN. I wish you luck on your search also.

Thank you.

The name Balzora can't be a dead end because it had to come from

seems it was maybe "swept under the carpet"...the only Balzora's

I come up with are French Creoles or Haitians. Whatever? it's

just one of the beginnins for John W. Parton. Antoinette Trimble

Balzora married Henry Leigh (Brian thinks it might be Lay..?)

they had Celia Balzora Leigh which Tami found in the cemetery.

Why isn't her husband buried there? And why is Dora Parton buried

Richard M. was born in about 1805-06 in VA. The only thing I know

Their son Allen married Sarelda BRYANT 11 Nov 1868. Sarelda's

parents were Henry BRYANT and Elizabeth (Louisa) HIGGINS. Henry

was born in 1815-16 in Pulaski Co. and Eliza was born in 1821-22
