James D. "J.D." Sargent Sr., 54, of West Liberty, died Monday Jun.26 2000 in St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead. Mr. Sargent was born July 5, 1945, in Morgan County, a son of Novella Roberts Sargent Perry of Taylor, Mich., and the late Wayne D. Sargent. A daughter, Shelia Gay Sargent, preceded him in death. He was a former construction worker and farmer. Additional survivors include his wife, Louise Adkins Sargent; three sons, James D. Sargent Jr. and Anthony Sargent, both of West Liberty and Rick Sargent of Isonville; five brothers, Wayne Sargent of Dunlap, Tenn., Ray Sargent of Taylor, Tony Sargent and Mark Perry, both of Blairs Mill and Johnny Perry of Wrigley; five sisters, Linda Easterling of Wyandotte, Mich., Erma Perry of Blairs Mill, Gail Perry of Clearfield, Mary McDonald of Fort Coy, Fla., and Roxie Rigsby of Frenchburg; and eight grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead by the Rev. Eugene Haney. Burial will be in Sargent family cemetery in Blairs Mill.
