JENKINS, OVA

Ova Jenkins, 80, of Pricey Creek Road, Salyersville, died Friday, December 2,2005 at his residence. Born December 13, 1924 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, Ova was the son of the late Gobel Jenkins and Ona Coffey Jenkins. He was a carpenter, member of Rockhouse United Baptist Church, and Elkfork Lodge # 755 F&AM. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Oakley, Raymond, Garland, Mason, Woodrow, Earl, and Burl Jenkins; and one sister, Marie Francis. Survivors include his wife Pauline Jenkins ; three sons, Wayne Jenkins of Salyersville, Tim Jenkins of Winchester, and David Jenkins of Prestonsburg ; two sisters, Reva Jenkins of Salyersville and Clara Blanton of Morrow, Ohio ; five grandchildren, Brooke Jenkins, Meny Jenkins Arnett, Natasha Jenkins, Jason Jenkins, and Wesley Jenkins. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday, December 4 at Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with ministers John Blanton, Phillip Caudill, and Eulas Adama officiating. Burial followed in the Gobel Jenkins Cemetery on Pricey with Magoffin County Funeral Home of Salyersville in charge of arrangements. Active pallbearers were Randall Jenkins, Rocky Jenkins, Ralph Blanton, Matthew Blanton, Teddy Jenkins, Nickey Jenkins, Harry Francis, and Troy Gullett. Honorary pallbearers were all his grandchildren.

JOHNSON, AURA MAE

Aura Mae Johnson, 82 , of Lacy Creek Road, West Liberty, died Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at U. K. Medical center in Lexington. Born May 7, 1923 at White Oak, Kentucky , Aura Mae was a daughter of the late Curt Conley and Mary Easterling Conley. She was a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church and attended Lacy Creek Church of Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Johnson ; two brothers, James Clinton Conley and an infant brother, William Walter LeMaster ; 5 step-brothers, 1 granddaughter, Staci Jean Johnson ; and 1 great-granddaughter, McKaila Cheyenne. Survivors include three daughters, Anna Marie Prince of Beavercreek, Ohio, Mary Etta Easley of Lancaster and Essie Gay Creech of Mount Sterling ; five sons, Chester Lee Johnson of New Carlisle, Ohio, William Clinton Johnson of West Liberty, Alfred Grant Johnson of Lancaster, Johnny Martin Johnson and Charles ray “ Frog “ Johnson, both of Lacy Creek ; 15 grandchildren ; 11 great-grandchildren ; one sister, Pearl Johnson of West Liberty ; one step-sister, Inez Nelson of Albertville, Alabama ; two half-brothers, Douglas LeMaster of West Liberty and Ruby Jewell LeMaster of Ashland, Ohio ; two step-brothers, E. G. LeMaster of Louisville and Dan LeMaster Jr. of Lacy Creek. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, October 21 at Lacy Creek Church of Christ with Elder Jimmy Adkins and Rev. Tooney Easterling officiating. Burial followed in the Lacy Cemetery at Lacy Creek with Potter Funeral Home of West Liberty in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Greg Creech, Chad Jones, Bryan Jones, Marty Johnson, Keith Johnson, Shawn Johnson and Eric Bailey.

JOHNSON, DORLENE

Dorlene Johnson, 65, of Somerset, went to the arms of Jesus , Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Somerset. A Morgan County native, she was born on April 17, 1940 a daughter of the late Ezra M. and Lillie Lumpkins Johnson. She was a retired pharmacy clerk for CVS Pharmacy and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry dale Johnson. She is survived by two daughters, Sheila and ( David ) Tompkins and Judy Shanks, both of Somerset ; a brother, Gardie Lee Johnson of Miamisburg, Ohio ; three sisters, Helen Helton of Franklin, Ohio , Brenda and ( Cecil ) Porter of Carlisle, Ohio, and Jennifer Robbins of Brownstown, Ohio ; five grandchildren, Jeremy D. Shanks, Lori Boyd, Angela Calloway, Mark Kiteck, and David Thompkins III ; and 12 great-grandchildren. A memorial service was conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tueasday, April 11 at Victory Christian Fellowship in Somerset with Pastor Mark Harrell officiating. JOHNSON, HERSHELL T. SR.

Hershell Thomas Johnson, Sr., 41, of Hwy. 191, Hazel Green, died Sunday, March 19, 2006. He was born on January 3, 1965 at Campton in Wolfe County, Kentucky, a son of Maxine Davis Johnson of Daysboro and the late Shirley Thomas Johnson. He was a farmer. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Randall Johnson.

Besides his mother survivors include his wife , Diana Ross Johnson ; one son, Hershell Thomas Johnson, Jr. of Hazel Green ; three daughters, Melissa Gail Burnett of Daysboro, Michelle Johnson and Anna Marine Johnson, both of Hazel Green ; two brothers, Shirley Wayne Johnson of Daysboro and Bill Johnson of Mize ; three sisters, Lou Ellen Coleman of Lexington, Pattie Jean Johnson of Maytown, and Barbara Sue Ratliff of Daysboro ; three grandchildren, Michael Burnett, Kendra Gail Bunett, and Olivia Mae Burnett. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 at Porter and Son Funeral Directors Chapel with Bro. L.R. Cole officiating. Burial followed in the Holby Cemetery at Hazel Green with Porter and Son Funeral Directors of Campton in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Rick Coleman, David Wayne Johnson, Michael Dunn, Shirley Wayne Johnson, Bill Johnson, Rickey Coleman, Ove Brewer, and Timothy Dunn.

JOHNSON, PHYLISS

Phyliss Johnson, formerly of Ezel, died at U.K. Hospital in Lexington on Wednesday, January 25,2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mollie ( Phillips ) Johnson. Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Johnson Minix and son-in-law, Bobby Minix ; three grandchildren, Shaniquiwa Howard, Cecily Howard, and Bobby J. Minix. Burial was in the Phillips Cemetery at Ezel on Sunday, January 29. Pallbearers were family and friends. Arrangements by Deaton Funeral Home.

JONES, ANNA

Anna Mae Walton Terrell Jones, 85, of Garden Grove, California died Saturday, October 29, 2005 in California. Born April 19, 1921 at cannel City, Kentucky. Alma was a daughter of the late Thomas and Daisy Dunigan Walton. Anna was a 1939 graduate of Cannel City High School. Also in 1939 she was united in marriage to William Lonas Terrell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands, Lonas Terrell and Leo Jones ; two brothers, Earl and Mearl Walton ; and a sister-in-law, Hallie Mae Walton. Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Terrell Newhard and husband Greg ; a granddaughter, Andrea ; and a grandson, Jeff, all of California ; two sisters, Louetta Bach of Fairborn, Ohio and Nettie Parks Mullins of Whitesburg, Kentucky ; and a brother, Harry Dean Walton and wife Louise of Tennessee ; and a sister-in-law, Levadis Walton of Fairborn, Ohio ; and a host of nieces and nephews. Remains were intered Saturday, November 26 in the Dayton Memorial Park, Dayton, Ohio.
