 Vernon “Doc” Evans, 86, of Old Irvine Road, passed away Monday August 2, 2004 at his home after a long illness. He was a native of Madison County and was born August 23, 1917 to the late Mr. and Mrs. James (Alice Richardson) Evans. He was a member of the Harris Memorial Baptist Church and the Labor International Union # 189. He was a retired construction worker and farmer. In addition to his parents he is preceeded in death by 2 Brothers Arvin and Burley Evans, and 2 sisters Dovie Anglin and Carrie Anglin.

Pallbearers will be Evan Goldson, Christopher Burns, Les Anglin, Robbie Horn, Tony Lamb and Donald Rhodus.

 

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday August 5, 2004 at 1:00 PM at the Turpin Funeral Home with Reverend Cecil Burns, and Rev. Leroy Goldson officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday August 4, 2004 at the Turpin Funeral Home.
