Lottie Fletcher Barnes, 82, of Lexington passed away Thursday September 16, 2004 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James (Ada Mae Jones) Fletcher.  She was born May 16, 1922 in Madison County. She was a retired employee of ARA food service, and a member of the Tates Creek Holiness Church.   She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Barnes, brothers Clark, Leon, Johnny, and Orville Fletcher, and two grandchildren Billy Todd Barnes, and Rodger Gene Dixon.

 

She is survived by

Daughter         Sue Hensley                                                    of Lexington, KY

Brother            Jimmy (Sylvia) Fletcher                                  of Miamisburg, OH

Brother            Charles Fletcher                                              of Richmond, KY

Sister               Phyllis Mae Fletcher                                       of Dayton, OH

Sister               Marie Brenner                                                 of Richmond, IN

And several nieces, nephews, and cousins

 

Pallbearers will be Greg Barnes, Billy Dixon, Terry Dixon, Timmy Dixon, Shawn Dixon and Eric Dixon.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Chaney, Garlin Barnes, Greg Prewitt, Rodney Whitt, and Christopher Maloney.

 

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday September 18, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the Turpin Funeral Home with Reverend Harry Revels officiating.  Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations are sent to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 3212 Alexandra Drive, Lexington, Kentucky 40504.
