Rock Spring

James JOHNSON moved from here to town Saturday.

George KINCAID staid all night with M. M. ESTES Tuesday night.

Mrs. Charley SHEARER was visiting her home-folks last week.

Tyler and Floyd HUGHES were visiting at M. M. ESTES' Sunday night.

Miss Maggie COLE was visiting on the Johnson Hill, Saturday and Sunday.

Green KINSER, of Powell County, was in the Hopewell region Sunday.

Shelby ESTES was visiting in the Fincastle region last Saturday and Sunday.

Mrs. Fannie PHILLIPS, was the pleasant guest of Miss Lucy LONGWORTH, Sunday.

Mitchell HOWELL, of Heidelberg, was visiting at E. D. HUGHES, Saturday night and Sunday.

Rev. J. C. SMALLWOOD preached to a large congregation Saturday night, out on Hungry Ridge.

Misses Ollie GILBERT and Hattie HOWELL were the pleasant callers on Kansas ESTES, Sunday.

Beech Grove

C. B. SMYTH was at town, Tuesday.

Fine weather for this time of year.

Uncle Frank COX was over at town Tuesday.

Aunt Jane CURRY is on the sick at this writing.

Farmers are very busy gathering corn in this section.

Grandma SMYTH visited Mrs. Fannie COMBS Saturday night.

Grant, the nine-year-old son of C B. SMYTH, has fever and is in the care of Dr. WILLIAMS of Zachariah.

Grandma SMYTH who is nearing the 85th mile post of life was over to see her daughter Jane CURRY, Monday.

Dave SMYTH says he wants half a dozen hands to help him plant corn next week. It does look like planting time.

Robt. SULLIVAN has finished his job of sawing in Panther Hollow and sold his saw-mill to Andrew COMBS who is moving it out.

Andrew COMBS is moving his saw-mill in on Little Sinking. He has also a grist-mill attached to make material for hoe-cakes.

All of them are sick at Uncle Simp CRABTREE's except him. The children are down with several cases of Whooping cough but none are in great danger.

Am sorry to report that Aunt Nancy COLE continues poorly.

C. R. WATSON is moving into the house recently vacated by James HOWELL.

Frank HUBBARD and wife of Leighton, are visiting relatives on Millers Creek.

Willie SPARKS and wife are visiting relatives on Millers Creek at this writing.

There will be a box-supper at the Durbin school-house Saturday night. Everybody come.

The newly organized Sunday school at Eager, is progressing nicely with Bro. MCGUIRE as Superintendent.

Sid HUGHES gave the young folks a bean-hulling and play party a few nights ago, which all enjoyed very much.

The dance at Charley SCHOOLER's passed off nicely Saturday night, and the dancers are waiting patiently for the next one.

James S. CURRY, son of the late Sampson CURRY, was married on the 4th inst. to Miss Zelder JOHNSON. May their future life be happy.

The three MARTIN brothers, John, Bob and Mann are gathering their corn this week. They are hustlers; they can work all-day and then play Rabbit Soup all night. Hurrah for the MARTINS.

Vollie MOBERLY and Miss Mattie THACKER were untied in marriage Nov. 3rd. May peace and plenty abide with them in a bright sunshiney home, forever.

James HOWELL recently moved to a newly purchased home near Winchester. We are very sorry to lose such a good citizen and neighbor but may fortune smile on them in their Bluegrass home.

Born to the wife of R. B. KINCAID, last week a boy.

Thomas and Harve LUTES made a business trip to Beattyville, last Saturday.

Miss Lottie and Gertie WHITE of Athol were visiting Miss Kate WHITE here Sunday.

Rev. T. B. STRANTON, on his way from Antioch, where he had been holding a Quarterly Meeting preached at New Springs Sunday night.
Decorsie LUCAS and Troy MARSHALL left here last week for Leslie county, where they will be engaged in the lumber business this winter.
Mrs. Amanda EDENS and daughter of Bozeman, Montana are visiting Mr. and Mrs. R. A. WALTON at present. She is the widow of Wes EDEN who moved to Montana many years ago.
Christmas is coming.

Isaac WEILER of Winchester, and Isaac WILDER of Booneville, were in town this week.

Carl, the little son of Harris JONES, happened to a very sad accident a few days ago by falling on the sidewalk at his home and breaking his leg. But we understand he is getting along nicely.
