LEE COUNTY KENTUCKY DEED
from Shelby America Johnson to Elisha Johnson June 9, 1917 DB 24 PG 533

THIS DEED OF CONVEYANCE, made and entered into this 9 day of June 1917, between Shelby Johnson and America Johnson of Lee County, Kentucky of Zoe, KY, Party of the first part, and Elisha Johnson of Lee County Kentucky Zoe Ky party of the second part, witnesseth: That said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the some of one hundred and seventy five dollars ( $175 ) and 34 dollars in hand paid to the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged does hereby sell and convey to the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, the following described property, to-wit: A certain tract or parcel of land in Lee County, Kentucky, on the waters of Hell Creek and being a part of the lands conveyed to the first parties by Ora A. Jinking by deed bearing date of February 1st 1916, which is duly recorded in deed book 24 page 418 County Clerk’s office, containing 40 acres more or less. Beginning corner in James M. Olinger line on a stuping pine near the top of cliff thence North 67 E 50 poles to a stack on top of the ridge thence two poles South 9 1/2 West from a pine corner to Patrick Williams, Socrates Johnson thence North 9 1/2 E 2 poles to said pine corner; thence with the top of said ridge and said Johnsons line thence N 6 1/2 W 10 poles to a sucker North 1 W 20 poles N 31 1/2 W 20 poles to a stake N 15 E 7 poles to a stake at the Beattyvlle and Campton Road and leaving said Johnsons line with the meanders of the said road thence west with said Road to a fence and a small red oak thence a straight line to a black gum thence a straight line to the Beginning corner.

To have and to hold the same, together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part hereby covenants with the said party of the second part, that party of the first will warrant the title to the property hereby conveyed unto the said party of the second part and his heirs and assign forever,

A lien is retained upon the property hereby conveyed as security for the payment of the said unpaid purchase money, One hundred and seventy five dollars.

In testimony whereof, the party of the first part has hereunto subscribed their name, the day and year aforesaid.

The party of the second part agrees to pay the party of the first part promise to pay $87.50 due by note June 1st 1918 and one note due for $87.50 June 1st 1919.

I, D .J. Shoemaker Notary Public the County and State aforesaid, certify that the foregoing Deed of Conveyance from Shelby Johnson and America Johnson his wife to Elisha Johnson was on the 9day of June 1917, produced to me in said County and acknowledges before me by Shelby Johnson and America Johnson his wife party grantors thereto, to be their act and deed.

I, R. C. Porter, Clerk of the County Court for the County and State aforesaid, certify
that the foregoing Deed was on the 22nd day of September 1917 lodged for record, whereupon the same, with the Foregoing and this certicate have been duly recorder in my office in Deed BOOK NO 24 page 533.
