Whereas I am justly indebted to James S. Farley in the sum of One Hundred and Twenty Dollars, evidenced by three certain promissory notes of even date herewith for Forty Dollars each, the first due on or before January 1st, 1910 the second due on or before the 1st day of February, 1910, and the third due on or before the 1st day of March, 1910, with interest at the rate of 6% per annum from and after maturity until paid, the receipt of all of which is hereby acknowledged. Now in order to fully secure the said James F. Fraley in the payment of said notes, or any renewals or extensions thereof, I have this day bargained, sold, aliened and conveyed and do by these presents bargain, sell, alien and convey by way of mortgage, unto the said James S. Farley, the following described personal property now in my possession in Lee County, Kentucky.

One B. F. Metcalfe two horse wagon, one yoke of oxen, black in color, answering to the names of “Negro” and “Bill” and being the same oxen and wagon this day purchased by me from said James S. Farley.

To Have And To Hold the same, to the party of the second part, his heirs and assign forever. This Indenture is conditioned as follows: That if I shall pay to said James F. Farley, his heirs or assign, or any one for me, the amount of the above mentioned notes on or before maturity, together with all interest and cost that may occrue, then this mortgage shall be null and void, otherwise to remain in full force and effect. If the said Henry Kendrick shall fail to pay any of said notes at maturity then all the notes shall become due and payable at once.
