Postcard of the Riverview Hospital in Louisa, KY. The hospital was established in 1902 by Dr. L. H. York. It overlooked the Levisa Fork of the Big Sandy River. Dr. York's son-in-law, Dr. A. W. Bromley, joined him in the operation of the hospital and became its sole proprietor after Dr. York's death in September 1935. In 1932, the building underwent extensive repairs and remodeling and on September 15, of the same year, the hospital was re-opened under new management of Dr. J. E. Carter and R. August M. French who had leased the building. Further remodeling of the building was begun in August 1967 and completed in May 1968. Members of the staff were Dr. J. E. Carter, senior member who was joined July 1967 by Dr. L. M. Browning and Dr. N. E. Edwards. In 1968, he was joined by Dr. J. M. Rouse.
