Brief History: The cemetery was originally established on the farm of James A. Farris. James A. Farris and his wife Mary "Polly" CAMPBELL Farris lost 3 daughters to a fever in 1854 and were the first to be buried in the cemetery. The daughters were Elizabeth age 10, Nancy Jane age 4, and Rebecca age 2. They are located in the northeast corner of the cemetery with their parents Mary "Polly" CAMPBELL and James A. Farris. A total of 7 of their eleven children are buried in this cemetery. Elizabeth Farris, Nancy Jane Farris, Rebecca Farris, Rachel FARRIS Keck, Sarah "Sallie" Farris, James Masterson Farris Sr. and Samantha Jane Farris. There are several of the grandchildren buried here also.
James A. Farris is buried here with his wife Polly. James A. Farris has two different stones. One on the side of Polly Farris's stone, and the original that is badly worn. There are two different death dates for James A. Farris on the two stones.
