Betty Sue BROWN

Mrs. Betty Sue Brown, 60, of Scalf, Ky., departed this life Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 in the St. Joe's Hospital in Lexington, Ky. She was the wife of James Brown. Mrs. Brown was the daughter of Oscar Davis and Lula Shelton Davis born to them Jan. 29, 1947 in Warren, KY. She was a member of the Salt Gum Baptist Church for the past 10 years. Mrs. Brown was retired from the Knox County School Board. Mrs. Brown was a loving and devoted wife and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, John Davis, Bill Davis and Ray Davis; sisters, Wanda Fuston and Lossie Bushanan; mother-in-law, Cordia Brown; sisters-in-law, Addie Davis and Helen Brown; brothers-in-law, Charlie Fuston and Isom Wilder; and one great grandson, Trevor. Survivors include: Loving husband of 41 years: James Brown of Sclaf, Ky.; daughters, April Mills and husband Johnny of Walker, Ky., Lula Mills of Barbourville, Ky., Karen Mills and husband Michael of Road Fork, Ky.; grandchildren: Charmaine, Shantoria, James, Benjamin, Johnny and Andrew; sisters: Floretta Sowders and husband Harold of London, Ky., Ruth Vertz and husband Leonard of Perry, Mich., Alice Harrell and husband Bill of Orlando, Fla., Faye Wilder of Barbourville, Ky.; Brother: Bruce Davis of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Davis and Mary Davis; brothers-in-law, Jerald Buchanan, Bill Brown and wife Gerry, General Brown and wife Delia, Dallas Brown and wife Diane, Bradley Brown and wife Evelyn, Jack Brown and wife Debbie, Bowman Brown and wife Judy; special nephew, Leonard Brown. Mrs. Brown also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends to mourn her passing Funeral services for Mrs. Brown were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 at noon in Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kennon Roark, Rev. Earl Hammons and Rev. David Barnard officiating. Pallbearers were family and friends. burial followed at Brown Cemetery at Browns Branch, Ky.
