FAYE BAKER BALLARD

Mrs. Faye Baker Ballard, 75, of the Walker Park Road, Barbourville, passed away Sunday evening, November 2, 2008 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Martha Mae Davis Baker born on July 19, 1933 at Sugartree Branch. Mrs. Ballard was a homemaker and a member of the River Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening and flowers. On June 4, 1954, she united in marriage with John Marshall Ballard in Anchorage, Alaska and to this union three children were born. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wenoma West; a brother, Thomas Jefferson Baker Jr.; and a son-in-law, Jerry Yeager. Survivors include her husband, John Marshall Ballard of the Walker Park Road; three children, Debbie Liford and husband, Wayne, of Hinkle, Marsha Yeager-Messer and husband, Larry, of Cannon and William Seymour Ballard and wife, Deborah, of the Walker Park Road; 10 grandchildren, Maggie Liford, John Liford, Rebecca Hibbard and husband, Stephen, Rachel Liford, Robbie Liford, Jerry Yeager and wife, Brenna, Jess Yeager, Travis Ballard, James Ballard and Tom Ballard; two great grandchildren, Kaiden Yeager and Kylei Faye Ballard; five step grandchildren, Whitney Roark, Andrew Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, Teda Mills and Shannon Messer; two nieces,Yvonne Millward and husband, Guy, and Bonnie Kimble; a nephew, Roy Dean West and wife, Eiko; among other loved ones and dear friends. Her funeral service was conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, November 5 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Denvil Taylor and Rev. Dewayne Smith officiating. Mrs. Ballard was laid to rest in the Warfield Cemetery.
