LOIS B. TREADWAY

(1928 - 2008)

Mrs. Lois B. Treadway, 80, of Barbourville, passed away Sunday morning, June 8, 2008 in the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. She was a daughter of the late Lyman Riddle and Bertha Vincent Benjamin born on May 27, 1928 in Barbourville.

Mrs. Treadway was a retired music teacher with the Barbourville Independent School System and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Barbourville and the Barbourville Younger Woman�s Club. She directed both the First United Methodist Church Choir and the Barbourville Community Chorus for many years. Mrs. Treadway enjoyed reading, gardening and her dogs. She also dearly loved her grandchildren.

On June 20, 1951, she united in marriage with Shirley F. �Buck� Treadway in Barbourville and to this union two children were born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Benjamin and a brother, Mason Neal Benjamin.

Survivors include her husband, Buck Treadway of Barbourville; two children, Lyman Michael Treadway and wife, Melanie, of Sugarland, TX and Elizabeth Treadway Oldham and husband, Jeff, of Owensboro; six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Seth and Benjamin Oldham and Jennifer, Adam and John Treadway; a sister-in-law, Edith Curliss Benjamin Chapman of Denton, TX; three nephews, Ben, Bill and Bob Benjamin; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted at the Conway Boatman Chapel Wednesday, June 11 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Joel Allen officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Jeffrey Oldham, Seth Oldham, Benjamin Oldham, Adam Treadway, John Treadway and Dr. Raymond E. Hayden.

Friends may call at the First United Methodist Church Tuesday between 5 and 9 P.M. and Wednesday at the Conway Boatman Chapel after 12 noon until the funeral hour.

Expressions of sympathy may go to the First United Methodist Church Music Fund, 312 North Main Street, Barbourville, KY 40906 in loving memory of Mrs. Treadway.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
