| Zora Mae Hammons Smith (May 2, 1929 - October 1, 2008) Zora Mae Hammons Smith age 79, of Georgetown, Kentucky was born on May 2, 1929 in Knox County. She was a daughter of the late Wiley Hammons and Mattie McDonald Hammons. Mrs. Smith died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Georgetown. Mrs. Smith united in marriage to George Ernest Smith. Her husband, George, a sister, Jeanetta Joyner and a brother, Norman Hammons preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith is survived by her dear daughter, Betty Sparks and husband, Rod of Georgetown, Kentucky; grandchildren; Rodney Sparks and wife, Delores and Kimberly Sparks; great grandchildren; Shane, Adelynn and Austin; her sisters; Christine Hammons of Barbourville and Doris Meade of Michigan; and her brothers; Lloyd Hammons and wife, Bernice and Marvin Hammons and wife, Mary all of Barbourville. Funeral Services for Zora Mae Hammons Smith will be conducted at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. William Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in the Hutchins Cemetery at Bailey Switch with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home, Friday after 6:00 p.m. and Saturday after 10:00 a.m.until the funeral hour. |
