Ada Ellen SIMPSON

Mrs. Ada Ellen Simpson, age 86, of Artemus, Ky., departed this life on Wednesday-October 11, 2006 in the Knox County Hospital. She was the widow of Virgil Simpson and the daughter of Walter and Sallie Rickett Jackson born to them on September 25, 1920 in Knox County. Mrs. Simpson was the oldest member of the Coalport Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Preceding her in death are her parents, Walter and Sallie Jackson, her husband Virgil Simpson, one son, Kenneth Simpson, three brothers, Earnest, Hubert and Walter Thomas Jackson and four sisters, Dovie Warren, Gladys Gray, Hazel Jackson and Donna Jackson. Survivors Include: Four Sons: Bobby Simpson and wife Lora Ann, Denver Simpson, Wayne Simpson and wife; Tanya and Charles Simpson and wife Sharon all of Artemus, Ky;. Six Daughters: Betty Taylor of Louisville, Ky., Brenda Richardson and husband Linville of Indiana, Rita Poindexter and husband Cecil of Artemus, Ky., Bonnie Collett and husband Floyd also of Artemus, Charlotte Schwartz and husband Stan Of Tennessee and Delena Mills and husband Bill of Girdler, Ky. One Brother: Randall Jackson and wife Pauline of Richmond, Ky. One Sister: Bernice Dawes of Louisville, Ky. Thirty-Three Grandchildren, Thirty-One Great Grandchildren and Five Great-Great Grandchildren and a very special nurse, Joyce Shelby. Mrs. Simpson also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Simpson were conducted on Saturday-October 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Michael Lawson and Rev. Gene Hubbs officiating. Pallbearers were Mrs. Simpson's grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers were the staff of the Knox County Hospital Long Term Care Unit. Burial was in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. To the Simpson family, the staff of the Hampton Funeral Home would like to offer you our heartfelt sympathy during your time of bereavement.
