EMILY WELDON QUEEN, 88, Corbin, formerly of Griffin, Georgia, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2002 in Hillcrest Nursing Home.

She was born August 30, 1913 in Jackson, Georgia, a daughter of the late Joseph Frank and Susie Turner Weldon. Emily belonged to Midway United Methodist Church near Griffin, and had attended First Baptist Church since coming to Corbin about two years ago.

Survivors include one son, Michael L. Queen of Texas; four sisters, Ethel Weldon, Anna Mae Setser, and Billie Cobb, all of Corbin and Virginia Smith of Dayton, Ohio; two brothers, James L. Weldon and Fred W. Weldon, both of Corbin; and some nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Queen and two brothers, J. Frank Weldon, Jr. and Mike Weldon.

She was taken to Griffin, Georgia for a graveside service and burial beside her husband at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church of Corbin or Midway United Methodist Church at Griffin. O'Neil Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
