Barbara Ann Pendleton

Barbara Ann Pendleton, age 61, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday afternoon, December 23, 2007. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Barb was born September 11, 1946 in Corbin, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Ernest and Dovie (Dice) Ray. She married the love of her life, Gary Pendleton, on July 12, 1968 at Kentucky Park Baptist Church in Monroe.

Barb had worked for more than thirty years for the Monroe County Extension Office, where she had been extremely active with 4-H. She had worked as an Administrative Assistant retiring in 2003. She had attended Monroe Full Gospel for many years. Following her retirement, being active in her church became a passion. She listed as hobbies: garage saleing, cooking, and especially baking. Her family recalls their beloved "MIMI" as a wonderful grandmother.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 39 years, Gary Pendleton Sr.; a daughter: Shannon and Marc Brancheau; two sons: Gary and Kim Pendleton Jr. and Jeremy and Angie Pendleton all of Monroe; five grandchildren: Jarret Brancheau, Skyler, Delaney, and Kaleb Pendleton, and Devin Pendleton. She was expecting a granddaughter: Hailey Pendleton in January 2008. She is also survived by seven brothers and sisters and seven step-brothers and sisters.

A Gathering for friends will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at the Merkle Funeral Home, 2442 North Monroe Street, Frenchtown Township. She will lie in state from 10:00am until a Celebration of Her Life at 11:00am, Thursday at the Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Von Loop pastor of the church and the Rev. Gary Pickrell, long-time friend, will co-officiate. Procession and burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Monroe.

In lieu of flowers, for those desiring memorial contributions are suggested to Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church.

Online condolences can be made by visiting the funeral home website at www.merklefuneralservice.com and selecting the obituaries page.

Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise; Luke 23:4
