Alma MERIDA PARTIN

Mrs. Alma Merida Partin, age 84 of Artemus, KY, was born February 23, 1923 to Arthur and Gracie Mills Merida at Mills, Ky. and departed this life on Monday-August 27, 2007 in the Knox County Hospital. On October 2, 1948 she was united in marriage to John Partin and to this union nine children were born. She was a member of the Roadside Baptist Church. Mrs. Partin greatly enjoyed her gardening, cooking, playing Chinese checkers and dominos but more importantly reading her Bible and caring for her family. Her husband Rev. John Partin preceded her in death on February 15, 2004. Also preceding her in death were her parents Arthur Merida and Gracie Mills Merida, granddaughter Whitney Beth Ledford, two sisters Ora Merida and Lena Merida, four sons-in-law Terry Warfield, Kenny Landrum, Armond Miles and David Ledford. Those left to mourn her passing include: nine children Cathy Landrum of Artemus, Ky., Debra Adkins and husband Eulis Ray of Artemus, KY., Doug Partin of Girdler, KY., Zella Ledford Brown of Artemus, KY., Judy Bowling and husband Ron of Artemus, KY., Mark Partin and wife Pam of Artemus, KY., John Partin and wife Michelle of Heidrick, KY., Pam Clines and husband Danny of North Middletown, KY., Rick Partin and wife Sherry of Boone Heights, KY. One brother Lester Merida and wife Beulah of Hammond, KY., One sister Lela Carmack and husband Earl of Bimble, KY. Mrs. Partin also leaves behind many other friends and relatives to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Partin will be conducted on Friday-August 31, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at the Roadside Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Partin, Rev. Mark Partin and Rev. Owen Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Tony Landrum, Kevin Miles, Keith Partin, Alvin Brown, Brian Brown, Nathan Warfield, Chris Bowling, Randy Partin, Jeremiah Partin, Christopher Partin, Joshua Partin, Daniel Clines and Joel Partin. Honorary pallbearers will be all the churches of which she has been a former member. Burial will follow in the Stewart-Abner-Partin Cemetery at Artemus, KY. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. To the family of Mrs. Alma Merida Partin, we , the staff of the Hampton Funeral Home, wish to extend to you our heartfelt sympathy during your time of bereavement.
