Nola VAN MERRITT
Mrs. Nola Van Merritt, 91, of Norwood, OH, formerly of Artemus, passed away Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006 in the Hospice of Cincinnati East.æ She was a daughter of the late Henry Lee and Jinnie Goley Van born on March 31, 1915 in Knox County. Nola was a retired cashier from Kroger's and of the Baptist faith. She was an avid reader and enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and cooking. On October 11, 1936, Nola united in marriage with John B. Merritt who preceded her in death on September 24, 1984. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two stepchildren, Maggie Disney and Hubert Merritt; three brothers, Monas, James and J. B. Van; and two sisters, Dorothy Reedy and Tina Collins. Survivors include a daughter, Lulu Kinnett of Indianapolis, IN; a son, John R. Merritt of Norwood, OH; a grandson, Johnny Merritt and wife, Kim, of Norwood, OH; a step granddaughter, Julie Roesch of Indianapolis, IN; two step grandsons, Gary and Steve Disney both of Louisville; two step great grandchildren, Edward G. and Emily Roesch both of Indianapolis, IN; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loved ones and dear friends who mourn her passing. Her funeral service was conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, December 13 at 1 p.m. with her nephew, Rev. Glenn Collins officiating. She was laid to rest in the Sowders Cemetery at Artemus. Casket bearers were family and friends. Arrangements were under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
