Clint Merida Jr., 59, of Flat Lick, was born in Knox County, Kentucky on June 16, 1949. He was a son of Axie Allen Merida and the late Clint Merida. Mr. Merida died at the home of his sister, Brenda Grubb in Barbourville, Friday, July 18, 2008. Mr. Merida was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church. He was a construction worker. On September 4, 1965, he united inmarriage to Samantha Edwards.Along with his wife, Samantha, he was preceded in death by hisfather, Clint Merida, a granddaughter, Jessica Ann Merida; a sister, Sharon Merida; a brother, Lonnie Merida; twin brothers, Teddy and Doyle Merida; a sisterin- law; Billie Merida; and a brother-in-law; Theo Vaughn. He is survived by his; Son; David Merida and wife, Margaret of Flat Lick; Daughters, Tina Rose and husband Jack of Barbourville; Trita Gray and husband, Hairm of Richmond, Kentucky; Donna Callihan and husband, Gus of Flat Lick; Charlene Cornett and husband David of Mackey Bend in Knox County; his dear grandchildren; Jack Allen Rose Jr., David Clinton Merida, Samantha Elizabeth Callihan, Samantha Jo Merida, Amanda Paige Merida, Kimber Renee Gray, Miranda Hope Cornett, Jacob Ryan Rose, Samara Bethany Callihan And Gabriel Scott Cornett; his great granddaughters; Jaycee Samantha Rose; Annie Kaye Rose; His dear mother, Axie Allen Merida of Roadfork; His sisters; Linda Sprinkles of Lily; Brenda Grubb and husband, Ray of Barbourville; Loretta Mize and loving friend, Tim Bargo of Heidrick;His brothers; Shelby Merida and wife, Louise of Frakes; Rev. Kenneth Merida andwife Carol; Jeff Merida and wife, Michelle all of Bimble; and Randy Merida and wife Tammyof Roadfork; His brother-in-law, Tip Edwards and wife Mabel of Bimble and many beloved niecesand nephews. Funeral Services for Clint Merida Jr. will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral HomeChapel, Monday, July 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mike Collins and Rev. Kenneth Merida officiating. Burial will follow in the Allen Cemetery at Mills Creek in Knox County, with nephews serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: his dear sister, Brenda Grubb, Dr. James West, staffs at Tri-county Hospice and the Markey Cancer Center. The Merida Family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home Sunday evening from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Monday after 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are under thedirection of Hopper Funeral Home.
