Charles MARLER

Charles Willis Marler, 71, of Midland, left his family, Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 2:15 a. m., at his home. Chuck (Sonny) was born July 13, 1937 in Blackmount, KY. He married his childhood sweetheart, Carol Jane Havens in 1956. Prior to moving to Michigan, he was an independent coal miner, then a carpenter, then also ran a firewood business. He loved and cherished his family, and enjoyed woodworking, mechanics, and reading. He enjoyed gardening and took great pride in his yard. He also enjoyed his daily rides down by the river, where he would nature watch. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife, Carol Jane Marler, and children: Floyd (Irene) Marler, Debbie (Lynn) Mills, Jane (Doug) Garland all of Kentucky, Barbara (Trigg) Cathey, Gary (Brigette) Marler all of Tennessee, and his �babe� Mary (Darren) Chapin of Michigan, also his mother in law, Marion Havens, his fifteen grand children, twelve great grandchildren, two brothers, and six sisters. Preceding him in death are his parents Sewell and Gurthelee Marler, one sister, Sewelline Peavely, and his father in law Floyd Havens. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed, and live in our hearts forever. ~Memorial Service~ A memorial will be held in Charles� home town of Barbourville Kentucky at the Mount Pleasant Baptist church, his brother in law Pastor Garrett Garland will officiate.
