Luther Karr, 82, Level Green Road, Corbin, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2003 in the local hospital.

He was born January 9, 1921 at Keavy, a son of the late Damon and Inez Haverly Karr. Luther served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star award. He was retired from National Standard Co. and belonged to the 19th Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include three children, Dennis Karr of Glendale, Arizona, Todd Karr and Mary Seibert of Keavy; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Edna Hensley of Keavy, Beulah Trett of Florence, Zella Johnson of Corbin, and Shelby Mobley of Florence; one brother, George Karr of Florence.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 29 at the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Scott officiating. Burial was in the Locust Grove Cemetery with military honors by the DAV Chapters 66 and 158.
