WESLEY HUBBARD FROM THE HAMILTON (OH) JOURNAL-NEWS 11/17/07


Wesley Hubbard of New Miami, OH and Somerville, OH passed away on November 15, 2007, at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born to Jesse and Samantha (Jackson) Hubbard on September 11, 1924, in Hammond, KY. He attended the Knox County Public Schools. In the summer of 1943, in Hammond, KY, Wesley married Bessie Smith Hubbard and she preceded him in death on April 22, 1954. In Barbourville, KY on May 3, 1958, Wesley married Genoa Gambrel Hubbard and she preceded him in death on August 12, 2005. Wesley was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Williamsdale. He was a crane operator for D. J. Joseph & Company for 25 years retiring in 1985. Wesley is survived by his two sons, Wesley (Amy) Hubbard of Pineville, KY and Charles Hubbard of Hamilton, OH; five daughters, Sandra (Carl) Schiff of Somerville, OH, Carolyn Simmons of Hamilton, Samantha (John) Crews of Fairfield, OH, Geneva Lawson of Hamilton, and Betty (Jack) Smith of Hamilton; eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Edna Mills, Belle Hayes and Martha Thomas, all of New Miami, OH; brother, Howard Hubbard of Barbourville, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wesley was preceded in death by his parents; two infant sons, Jesse William and Charles Wesley Hubbard; brothers Birchel, Lark and Sam Hubbard; two half-sisters, Janie Mills and Cora Taylor; and son-in-law, Ben Simmons. Funeral services will be held at Webb Noonan Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South "D" Street, Hamilton, at 10am on November 19, 2007, with Pastor Denny Fields officiating. Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Family and friends will be received on November 18, 2007 from 4-6pm at the funeral home.
