Mr. William Clinton 'Bill' Hoskins, 78, of Barbourville, passed away Friday morning, July 6, 2007 at his home. He was a son of the late Robert and Cledith Elliott Hoskins born on January 31, 1929 in Bell County. Mr. Hoskins was the owner and operator of the former Hoskins Lumber Co. He was a member of the Barbourville Church of God and enjoyed sitting on his porch and watching folks go by. He faithfully served in the United States Army.On July 31, 1948, he united in marriage with Muriel Boggs in Pineville and to this union two sons were born. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Gambrel and a great granddaughter, Melissa Grace Conn. Survivors include his wife, Muriel Hoskins of Barbourville; two sons, William Clinton Hoskins and wife, Joyce, of Barbourville and Herby Hoskins and wife, Melanie, of Gray; three brothers, Archie Hoskins of Middlesboro, Bob Hoskins and wife, Rosie, of Girdler and Farmer Hoskins and wife, Yvonne, of Harlan; four grandchildren, Melissa Conn and husband, Tim, of Somerset, Heather Hoskins of Cannon, Billy Hoskins and wife, Doylynn, of Heidrick and Wesley Hoskins of Gray; four great grandchildren, Jared Philpot, Meredith Jones, Alyssa Conn and Dustin Liford; a special niece, Lauri Hensley of Barbourville; a special friend and nurse, Mary Likins of London; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn his passing.His funeral service was conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, July 9 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Jeff Warren, Rev. Mervial Newman and Rev. Fred Disney officiating. Mr. Hoskins was laid to rest in the Doolin Cemetery at Heidrick with military funeral honors by the American Legion.Casket bearers were Billy Hoskins, Wesley Hoskins, Jared Philpot, Dennis Hammons, Benjamin Boggs, Ancil Hall, Gene Morris and Dennis Messer. Honorary bearers were Mark Shouse, Tim Conn, Robert Wyatt, Dr. Raymond Hayden, Dr. James West and employees of Knox Family Medicine, George Hammons and employees of Knox Professional Pharmacy, Buddy Brewer, Frank Bingham, Rev.
