Pearl Gibson Davis, 90, of Artemus, Ky., passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Sidney Carroll Gibson, born to them on December 1, 1915 in Bell County, Ky. Pearl was a homemaker and a member of the Davis Chapel Baptist Church. In the month of May, in 1936, she united in marriage to John H. Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband: John H. Davis, her son: Doyle Davis, a grandson: Anthony King, six brothers: Elbert, Frank, George, Ray, Ed and Jess. Her five sisters: Erma King, Hannah Gibson, Barbara White, Lucy Gibson and Rosie Brooks. Pearl is survived by her loving family, her son, Jack K. Davis and wife Janice of Indiana. Her daughters: Sue Ann King and husband Howard of Bailey Switch, Betty Partin and husband Lewis, Billie Messer and husband Pete, Loretta Broughton, and Pauline Fee and husband Roger, all of Artemus, Ky. Her brother, Ernest, of Westchester, Ohio. Her 12 grandchildren: Michellel Griffen and Cliff, Jennifer Miller and Michael, Claudia Davis, Michael Davis, Keith Davis, Berchel Messer and Chiquita, Chris Broughton, Felicia Broughton and Eugene, Brian Davis and Jillian, Rodney Messer, Sherry Messer, Janelle and Michael McWilliams. Her great grandchildren: Michaela and Matthew Miller, Jade and BJ Messer, Jamie and Sarah McWilliams, Jessica Ross, Megan, Ben and Cliff Griffen. Three great great grandchildren: Lily Pearl Ross, Dyllon Ross, Brian Jack Davis and many other family and dear friends. Funeral services for Pearl Gibson Davis were conducted on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Gibson and Rev. B.F. Jackson officiating. Burial followed in the Davis Cemetery with grandsons, Brian Davis, Keith Davis, Rodney Messer, Burchel Messer, BJ Messer, Chris Broughton, Michael Miller, Michael McWilliams and Cliff Griffen serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were J.E. and Ben Brooks, Jessie Arthur Gibson, Bobbie Gibson, David King, Lee Murphy, Kent Miller, Keith Ramsey, Kenneth Ramsey, James Miles, J. Harold Messer, Frankie Gibson, Mike Blevins and Neal Walkins. All arrangements were under the direction of Hopper Funeral Home.
