JACK D. CARR, 70, of Tampa, Fla., died Sunday, April 7, 2002 at Saint Mary's Hospice in Knoxville, Tenn. He was born on Oct. 8,1931 in Covington. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the United States armed forces as a medical technician. He retired after 31 years of service from the Hillsborough county school system.

He is survived by: a son, David Carr of Memphis, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law: Karen and Steven Schooley of Orlando, Fla.; two grandsons; brothers, Dorcel Carr and wife, Chris and J.B. Carr and wife Olive.

At his request, Jack's remains were cremated on Monday, April 8, 2002. Memorial services for Jack D. Carr were conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 27, 2002 with the Rev. Glenn W. Campbell officiating. Burial was in the Stewart Cemetery at Artemus. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in loving memory of Jack D. Carr.

Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
