WORLD WAR II

LIST OF KNOTT DEATHS KILLED IN ACTION

The state of Kentucky contained 2.12 per cent of the population of the United States and possessions (Excluding the Philippine Island)  in 1940 and contributed 1.96 per cent of the total number who entered the Army. Of these men and women of Ky, who went to war 3.47 per cent failed to return. This figure represents 2.21 per cent of the Army's total dead and missing.  This list of the Army dead, does not include men that served in the Navy and Marine Corps.

This is some information I came across a couple of years ago and wanted to share with everyone: When going through some mementos my father (Johnney R Reynolds) had when he died back in 1962,  I found this article from a newspaper. The name of the newspaper and date were missing, but this is a verbatim transcription of what was printed (even though it appears some names are duplicated): Phyllis Reynolds Goelz, July 13, 2000
