The Last Will and Testament
of
William E. Cornett

I William E. Cornett a resident of Hindman in the County of Knott and State of Kentucky being of sound mind and memory do hereby constitute this instrument of writing last will and testament.

FIRST
I devise the payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses out of my personal estate.

SECOND
I hereby bequeath to my grandson the only son of my deceased son William R. Cornett (whose name I understand to be Ward Cornett) the sum of Fifty dollars out of my personal estate. I want this sum paid to his guardian as soon after my death as practicable.

THIRD
I bequeath and give to Jessie Stacy the only surviving child of my deceased daughter Mary Stacy the sum of Fifty dollars out of my personal estate to be paid to the guardian of the child as soon as practicable in the event of my death.

FOURTH
I bequeath and give to my grandchildren Matilda and Millard Holcomb children of my deceased daughter Elsabeth Holcomb the sum of Twenty five dollars each. I want these sums paid direct to the above mentioned Matilda and Millard and request that they spend same in a manner best suited to their welfare.

FIFTH
I bequeath and give to my grandchildren the heirs of Lucinda Cornett deceased wife of Manon Cornett the sum of Fifty dollars to be divided among them equally to be paid direct to the children as soon as convenient and practicable after my death.

SIXTH
I bequeath and give to my son Hiram Cornett an amount which he may be indebted to me which I understand to be fifty dollars with interest and direct that the same not be collected in addition to what he owes me. I hereby give and bequeath to him the sum of three hundred dollars in cash which I direct to be paid to him as soon as practicable after my death.

SEVENTH
My son Harlan Cornett is indebted to me in the sum of about seven hundred and fifty dollars and perhaps something over the exact amount (?---?) I do not know (?its?)

this time but I hereby give and bequeath to him the amount of whatever he may owe to me and direct that same not be collected.

I further give and bequeath to my son Harlan Cornett all the remainder of my money and personal estate including one share of stock in the Perry County State bank and the accrued dividends on this stock if any.

EIGHT
I own two patents for land on Bull Creek of North Fork of Ky river in Perry County one for 100 acres and one for 200 acres. I desire these tracts of land to be divided among my heirs into six parts and I hereby devise to Harlan Cornett an undivided one sixth of said two tracts of land, to Hiram Cornett an undivided one sixth of same, to Jessie Stacy an undivided one sixth of same, to the heirs of my daughter Lucinda Cornett deceased Jointly and undivided one sixth of same, to the heirs of my deceased daughter Elsa Holcomb and undivided one sixth of same Jointly, to Ward Cornett son of my deceased son William R. Cornett an undivided one sixth of same.

NINTH
I have legal title to about 40 acres of land on the south side of KY river in Perry County adjoining the farm now owned by J.P. Dixon and a farm owned by the heirs of W. P. Duff. I hereby devise the same to Audly A. Cornett with the understanding that he pay the sum $45.00 to my personal estate within six months after my death. If said amount is not paid, then the said land I devise to my heirs the same as if (?decended?) to them.

[I Harlan Cornett do certify that the $45.00 (?---?) herein was paid by Audly A. Cornett to me as executor before Jan 12, 1910.

TENTH
I hereby appoint my son Harlan Cornett my executor to carry out the provisions of this will in so much as there may be need for and executor to carry out the provisions of the same. I do not require my son executor to execute any bond.

In the matter of the probate of the last will and testament of William E. Cornett deceased.

The forgoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of William E. Cornett deceased of Hindman, Ky was this day produced in open court for probate and filed and R. H. Amburgey and B.F. Combs the two subscribing witnesses thereto having first been duly sworn deposed and said that the said William E. Cornett testator signed sealed and declared said instrument as his last will and testament in their presence on the day and date thereof.

Whereupon it is ordered by the court that said writing be and do same is hereby admitted to probate and ordered to be recorded as the true last will and testament of the said William E. Cornett deceased.
