LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT

SILAS COMBS

I Silas Combs a resident of Hindman, Knott County, Kentucky being of sound mind and memory do hereby constitute this instrument of writing my last will and testament.

First: I will and bequeath to my wife Sylvia Combs all my real and personal property. Said tract of land being my home farm about one half mile to the town of Hindman and boundary by the lands of James Frances, D.(?W?) & Faris Hays, Lucinda Stewart, and C. L. Napier.

Second: I will and devise that if my said wife should sell said land, she is to pay each of my children (9) in number $100 each. Elijah Combs, Anna Jones, Malissa Combs, Maggie Cornett, Ella Combs, Bessie Combs, Grace Combs, Mattie Combs and Hettie Combs.

In the matter of probate of the last will and testament of Silas Combs deceased

It appearing to the satisfaction of the court from the evidence of John Sturgill and D. W. Wallen that the deceased Silas Combs departed this life on the -- day of Aug 1922 domiciled at the time of his death in Knott County Ky. Leaving as his last will and testament the foregoing instrument of writing which was this day filed in the court and recorded for probate.

Where upon came John Sturgill and D. W. Wallen two subscribing witnesses thereto and after being sworn attest that the instrument of writing was and is the last will and testament of the deceased, (illeggible) Silas Combs signed acknowledged and declared the said instrument of writing his last will and testament in the presence of the said subscribing witnesses John Sturgill and D. W. Wallen and that they the said subscribing witnesses signed and attested said instrument of writing as witnesses thereto in the presence of Silas Combs and in the presence of each other.

Now therefore, it is ordered that the said instrument of writing is and the same is now adjudged to be the last will and testament of the said Silas Combs and the same is hereby admitted to probate as such and ordered to be recorded and admitted to record as the last will and testament of the said Silas Combs deceased.
