Cushing, former Kenton county master commissioner, 1844 Euclid Ave., Covington, died yesterday after a long illness. Mr. Cushing who was 61 years old, also had been an assistant city solicitor of Covington. An attorney with offices in Covington, he was a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, a member of Knights of Columbus, and the Crusaders Club of St. Elizabeth Hospital, Covington. Mr. Cushing is survived by a son, John W. Cushing; two step-children, Henry Sellmeyer and Miss Mara Sellmeyer, and a brother, Frances (Pat) Cushing, all of Covington. He is also survived by five sisters, the Misses Catherine, and Florence Cushing, all of Covington; Sister Mary Praxedes and Sister Frances Raphael, both of Louisville. Services will be held from the Hugenberg & Glindmeyer funeral home, Covington, at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Requiem High Mass will be sung at St. Augusta Church, Covington, at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Covington. He also held membership in the Knights of Columbus and the Crusaders' Club of St. Elizabeth Hospital. He leaves a son, John W. Cushing, and two stepchildren, Henry Sellmeyer and Miss Mara Sellmeyer, all of Covington; a brother, Francis (Pat) Cushing, Covington; five sisters, the Misses' Catherine Sue and Florence Cushing, both of Covington, and Sister Mary Praxedes, on the staff of St. Mary Elizabeth Hospital, Louisville, and Sister Frances Raphael, also of Louisville.
