Verner Conley
Riceville resident Verner Conley, 72, died January 21 in Highlands Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Conley was born August 12, 1912, in Johnson County, the son of Hargis and Julia Rice Conley. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Conley served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Flora Hackworth Conley, two daughters, Bobbie Jean Conley of Riceville and Earline Nordman of Roann, IN; a brother and sister, Elbert Conley of Riceville and Ruth Hughes of Prestonsburg; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, January 23, at 11:00 a. m. in Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Herbert Arms and David Castle officiating.
Burial will be in the Conley Cemetery at Bonanza.
