                Miss Thelma Sester, Paintsville and Mrs. Louie Tuzzy, of Van Lear, were among the 39 women to be accepted in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps on August 8. This was the first group to pass the mental and physical tests from this area. They are now awaiting call and will be stationed at Ft. Des Moines, Iowa.

                Miss Sester is the Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter S. Sester of Odds. She is a graduate of Van Lear High School and for the past year and a half has been employed as a beauty operator at the Ora-Ann Beauty Shoppe in Paintsville.

                Mrs. Tuzzy was the former Anna Ruth Wills, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Wills, Van Lear. She also graduated from Van Lear High school and has at various times been employed at the local department stores. She is a member of the Van Lear Women's Club. Her husband recently enlisted in the Army Air Corps.

                Both of these young ladies are well-known in Paintsville and Johnson County and their fellow citizens wish them success in their new venture.
