Frank Howard Witten was born Jan 3, 1925 to Thomas and Ruby Salyers Witten.  He married Mary Alice Williams. It is noted that she is also noted as Mary Alice Siferd.

Frank H. Witten, 72, died December 26, 1997, at the Veterans Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was born January 3, 1925, in Johnson County, the son of Thomas Witten and Ruby Salyers Witten He worked as a welder at Clark Equipment in Lima, Ohio, for 23 years. He was an active member of the Church of Christ, a and of the VFW Post 1275, a member of the Lima Lodge F.&.AM. As an Army veteran of WWII,  he received a purple heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John Witten; and three brothers, Carmel and Clarence Witten and, an infant brother. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Siferd; two sons and daughters-in- law, James and Agnes Witten of Tennesse; Franklin and Mary Louise Witten of Marion, Ohio; one brother, Thomas Jr. and Ruby Witten of Sitka; one sister, Rusha and Doc Nickles of Sitka; and eight grandchildren.

Services were December 30, at the Siferd Funeral Home with Reverend John Amstutz officiating. Burial was at the St. Matthews Cemetery in Shawnee, Ohio.
