Clinton A. Selvage


    Clinton A. Selvage, 64, of Alger, Ohio, died October 13 at the Lima Memorial Hospital.

    He was born September 26, 1919, in Paintsville, son of Alfred and Emma (Ratliff) Selvage. He married Betty Aileen Brown, July 1, 1948, and she survives. Also surviving are his mother, Emma Selvage of Grove City, Ohio; two daughters, LaVonna Wood, Hobbs, N. Mex., and Mrs. William (Deborah) Lowery of rural Alger; two grandchildren, three brothers, Reecie of Sunbury, Ohio, Edward Lee of Johnstown, Ohio, and Charles of Alger; three sisters, Gartha Baldwin, Ashland, Mrs. Kenneth (Erie) Rice, Grove City, Ohio, and Hester Pierce, Westerville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters, Harriet May and Edna Lena Selvage.

    He was a retired assembly line worker for the Sheller-Globe Corp. in Lima. He had been a 25- year member of the Alger Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Alger United Baptist Church and a United States Army veteran of World War II. Funeral services were held October 15 in Alger United Baptist Church with Elders Denver Caudill and Douglas Ward officiating. Burial was in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
