Located on the corner of Fifth
and Maple Streets, Nicholasville Elementary school was built in
1913. This school housed
both elementary and high school students
until 1959, when the Jessamine Co. High School was completed.
The city can now boast of three
elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools, the
second one being
occupied with the start of the 1998-99 school
year.
