Jane Coleman to Mary B Coleman - Deed
Book H (1850), p 19 & 20
This indenture made and entered this 30 day of April 1850 between Jane Coleman
of the county of Hickman and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the first part and Mary
B Coleman of the same county and commonwealth of the second part witnesseth:
that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and ninety five dollars
to the said party of the first part in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby
acknowledged the said part of the first part hath this day bargained and sold
and by these presents doth grant, bargain & sell, convey and confirm unto
the said party of the second part all her right, title & interest in and to
the following described tract of land to wit: Being a part of the Northwest
quarter of section 35 township 2 and range 3 west beginning at the NW corner of
said QR section at a dogwood running thence south 120 poles to a stake thence
north 120 poles to a stake thence west 40 poles to the beginning containing 30
acres more or less situated & being in the county & state aforesaid and
being part of the same tract of land conveyed by George Haynes to the said Jane
Coleman on the 25th day of Dec 1839. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract of
land with its appurtenance unto the said Mary B. Coleman & heirs forever and
the said party of the first part for herself & her heirs the rightful title
to the aforesaid tract of land to the said party of the second part her heirs
& assigns doth hereby warrant and will forever defend the same against the
claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In testimony of
which the said party of the first part has hereunto set her hand and affixed her
seal the day & date above mentioned. Jane (her X Mark) Coleman.
State of Kentucky, Hickman Co. I, ____ Taylor, clerk of county Court for county
aforesaid do certify that the written deed from Jane Coleman to Mary B. Coleman
was on the 30th day of April 1850 produced to me in my office acknowledged by
said Jane Coleman to be her act & deed whereupon said deed with this
certificate is duly admitted to record in my office given under my hand this
15th day of May 1850. _____ Taylor.
