Surveyed according to the true meridian the variation of the compass being 8 º East. Plotted at a scale of 80 poles per inch March 13, 1879. H. C. Brown Surveyor

 

Pursuant to an order of the Hickman County Court at the March term 1879 appointing H.C. Brown, James Black and J.S. Hardin commissioners to decide the lands belonging to the heirs of Noah Davis dec’d. We proceeded to discharge the duties assigned us (after being duly sworn) on the 6th day of March 1879. Ly first survey the whole tract beginning at A on Diagram a post thence north 160 poles to B a post, thence west 1876 to C a post with hickery pointer thence South 29 poles to D a post thence East 276 poles to E a post thence South 131 poles to F a post thence east 160 poles to A the beginning thence South 20 poles to G a post thence east 52 poles to H a post with black oak pointer thence South 60 poles to I a post with hickery pointer thence East 97 poles to J a post; thence north 80 poles to K a dogwood with two white oak pointers, thence west 147 poles to A the beginning  containing 220 acres 1 rod 34 poles. We then proceeded to divide the same between the parties entitled thereto as follows to wit,

 

Lot 1, Begins at B a post NE center quarter section thence west 68 ¼ poles to X a post with pointers, thence South 80 poles to R a post, thence east 68 ¼ poles to N a black oak thence north 80 poles to the beginning containing 34 acres and 20 poles. Also No. 1 begins at A a post, thence north 80 poles to N a black thence west 20 poles to S a post thence South 80 poles to a post, thence east 20 poles to the beginning containing 10 acres all allotted to Noah L. Davis as his one fifth interest.

 

Lot 2 Begins at X a post with pointers NW corner No 1 thence west 119 poles to C a post with hickory pointer, thence South 29 poles to D a post thence east 276  poles to E thence South 25 poles to P a post with sassafras and black oak pointers thence East 92 poles to Q  a post with hickery pointer thence north 54 poles to the beginning containing 36 acres. Also No 2-2 begins a W, SE corner to No. 4 a post thence east 20 poles to V a post thence North 80 poles to V a post thence north West 20 poles to W a post thence South 80 poles to W the beginning containing 10 acres which is allotted to Ada E. Lewis as her 1/5 interest.

 

Lot no 3 begins at O a sumac with two red oak pointers thence east 92 poles to R a post thence north 26 poles to Q a post with pointers thence west 92 poles to P a post with sassafras and oak pointers thence south 26 poles to the beginning containing also lot no. 3-3 begins at V, SE corner to 2-2 a post east 20 poles to U a post thence west 20 poles to V a post south 80 poles to the beginning containing 10 acres. [error: should read also lot no. 3-3 begins at V, SE corner to 2-2 a post east 20 poles to U a post thence north 80 poles to U thence west 20 poles to V a post south 80 poles to the beginning containing 10 acres.] Also 3-3 begins a A a post thence south 20 poles to G a post, thence east 51 poles to H a post with red oak pointers thence South 60 poles to I a post with hickery pointer thence east 29 poles to L a post thence north 80 poles to M a post with three hickory pointers thence west 80 poles to the beginning containing 21 acres all allotted to Wm. F. Davis as his 1/5 interest.

 

Lot No 4 begins at F a post SW corner to quarter thence east ?? poles to W a post, thence north 80 poles to W a post thence north 80 poles to W a post thence west to O a sumac with 2 red oak pointers thence south 80 poles to the beginning containing 30 acres Also 4-4 begins at SW corner to 1-1 thence north 80 poles to S a post thence west ?? to T a post thence south 80 poles to T a post thence east 20 poles to the beginning containing 10 acres all allotted to Samantha E. Davis.

 

No 5 begins a J a post with pointer thence north 80 poles to K a post with two white oak pointers, thence west 68 poles to M a post with hickory pointers thence south 80 poles to L a post, thence east to the beginning containing 34 acres Also 5-5 begins T SW corner to 4-4 thence north 80 poles to T a post thence 20 poles to U a post thence south 80 poles to U a post thence 20 poles to the beginning containing 10 acres all allotted to Millie as her 1/5 interest all of which is most respectfully submitted.

Taylor, Clerk of the court for said county do certify that the foregoing was on the 7th day of April 1879 filed in court and ordered to one term for exceptions and on the 8th day of May 1879, No exceptions filed, was ordered to be recorded which is done.
