Mary E Jackson to E Louisa Berry - Deed Book M Page 74

Know all men that Mary E Jackson of the county of Hickman and State of Kentucky in consideration of Two hundred dollars to her paid has sold and by these presents doth convey unto E Louisa Berry of the county and State aforesaid her heirs and assigns the following described real estate “to wit”; it being her undivided interest of one-ninth which descended to her from her father William S Jackson deceased one land consisting of one hundred and sixty acres and one of ninety five acres lying in the county and state aforesaid. Together with this privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging to have and to hold unto the said grantee her heirs and assigns forever. And the said grantor hereby covenants with said grantee her heirs and assigns that she is seized of an estate in fee simple in said premises that her title thereto is unencumbered said that she will warrant and defend the same against all claims whatsoever. The grantor reserves a lien upon said premises to secure payment of Fifty dollars due December 25, 1865 part of the purchase money.

Witness the hand of the grantor this 18 day of November 1865.

I G Wm Rennich clerk of the county court of the county aforesaid do certify that this instrument of writing from Mary E Jackson to E Louisa Berry was on the 18 day of November 1865 produced to me in my office by the grantor (?) as required by law” and acknowledged by her to be her act and deed that on the 18 day of November 1865 said deed was lodged in my office for record and together with this certificate has been duly recorded in said office.
