Mary Ann Bates to Leander Berry - Deed Book C Page 47

This indenture made and entered into this 15th day of July 1835 between Mary Ann Bates of the county of Hardeman and state of Tennessee of the one part and Leander Berry of the County of Hickman and State of Kentucky of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Mary Ann Bates for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to me in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell & confirm unto the said Leander Berry his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land situate and being in the county of Hickman and state of Kentucky on the waters of little Obion containing one hundred and sixty acres it being the south west quarter of section thirty one Township three range three west together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto the said Leander Berry his heirs & assigns forever and the said Mary Ann Bates for herself her heirs executors and administrators doth and will forever warrant and defend against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In testimony where I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the date above.

Hickman County ToWit:

I, Henry L Edrington, clerk of the county court of the county aforesaid do certify that the foregoing deed from Mary Ann Bates to Leander Berry was produced to me in the 15th of July 1834 and acknowledged by the said grantor to be her act and deed whereupon the same together with the foregoing certificate hath been duly recorded in my office. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 30th day of October 1835.
