James C Roach to Washington Jackson - Deed Book B Pages 288-289

This indenture made this the nineteenth day of February the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four between James C Roach of the county of Graves and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and Washington Jackson of the county of Hickman and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said James C Roach for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Washington Jackson his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situated and being in the county of Hickman and bounded as follows the north part of the northwest quarter of section thirty five and township one range two east beginning at the section corner thence west six and a half degrees south one hundred and fifty eight poles to a hickory and a black oak pointing then south six and a half degrees east one hundred and twenty poles to a stake thence east six and a half degrees North one hundred and fifty eight poles to a stake on the section and county line thence with the said line one hundred  and twenty two poles to the beginning containing one hundred and twenty and a half acres more or less together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with the appurtenances unto the said Washington Jackson his heirs or assigns forever and the said James C Roach for his self his heirs executors are administrators the aforesaid tract of land with the appurtenances unto the said Washington Jackson his heirs or assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever doth and will forever warrant and defend by these presents in witness whereof the said James C Roach hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and date first above written signed sealed and delivered in presence of

I Henry L Edrington clerk of the county court for the county aforesaid do certify that the foregoing deed from James C Roach to Washington Jackson was produced to me on the 3rd day of March 1834 and acknowledged by the said Roach to be his act and deed whereupon the same together with the foregoing certificate hath been duly recorded in my office. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand the 14th day of March 1834.                           H.L. Edrington
