Andrew Peyton Thompson

Andrew Peyton Thompson was born in Lincoln Co. (now Garrard) October 16,1790. He was the son of James Thompson and Ruth Peyton.  He married Elizabeth (Betsy) Pepper February 5, 1811.  Bond by James Thompson of Garrard Co. and William Pepper of Mason Co. and married by Sam Lapsley.  The Thompsons and Peppers were aquainted in Fauquier Co. Va. before coming to Kentucky because other children of James Thompson married into other families of
Fauquier Co.  Betsy was the daughter of William H. Pepper and Lucy Smith of Mason Co. and had come into Ky. from Fauquier Co.
The children of Andrew and Betsy Thompson were Telephus Pepper Thompson, Dr. James Thompson, Artimecia Kemper Thompson, Emily W. Thompson, Athena Thompson, William Pepper Thompson, Susan Mary Thompson, Enoch Thompson, Nancy Thompson, Lucinda P. Thompson, Fannie K. Thompson, and Virginia C. Thompson. Andrew had land from the Pepper Estate and also bought land from other heirs and had also purchased other land on Johnson Fork and Millcreek.
Andrew died September 21,1843 and Betsy died March,1860.  There is a cryt for Andrew in the old family cemetery on MillCreek Rd but no stone for Elizabeth.  She is most likely buried there but outlived all of family except James and Telephus who are buried at Mayslick and Maysville.
Telephus is of my line and I will write a biography on his family. One note on Andrew, he served at The Battle of Lake Erie as a sharpshooter in  The Battle of 1812,1813. Also not noted above, Betsy was born in Fauquier Co. Va. October 27, 1792.
