Grow, George
Mr. George Grow died at his home at Hackley in this county at six o‘clock Wednesday morning of typhoid fever. After funeral services at the late home, his remains were placed at rest in the family lot in the Lancaster cemetery at 11 o‘clock Thursday morning. Mr. Grow had been sick but a few days, he was in town on last county court day but upon the advice of his physician he returned to his home and took to his bed in what proved to be a fatal illness; he was thought to be doing nicely until Tuesday when complications arose which the physicians could not overcome and he sank rapidly until the end came. Mr. Grow is survived by a wife of only a few months, who before her marriage was Miss Mischel Price, daughter of Mr. R. Z. Price of the county, and by several children by a former wife, including several children of tender years, and also by several brothers and sisters. George Grow was one of the sterling citizens of the county, connected with an old and well known family, and himself a popular man, he had a wide circle of friends; of a genial, jovial disposition, he immediately rendered himself popular in the locality in which he located and immediately bound to him by the ties of friendship his neighbors and acquaintances. His death came as a great surprise and shock to many, as but few people knew of his serious condition.

Grow, Minnie Raney
Mrs. Minnie R. Grow died at her home at Hackley in this county at 1 o‘clock Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 8, 1911) and her remains were interred in the Lancaster cemetery Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o‘clock after funeral services by Rev. F. M. Tinder. Mrs. Grow under went a serious operation at the Lancaster hospital about two weeks since but it afforded her only temporary relief; on last Sunday afternoon she was removed to her home at Hackley, it being her request that her last moments be spent at home with her family. She was accompanied by her nurse Miss Margaret Smith who remained with her until the end came.
Mrs. Grow was the wife of Mr. George Grow, a prosperous farmer of Hackley. She was the daughter of George M. and Mary Raney. She is survived by her father, one brother, Willie Raney, two sisters, Mrs. Ed Chandler and Mrs. Nelson Davis all of this county, by her husband and eight children. Mrs. Grow was a faithful member of the Christian church.

Gulley, Gracie
Gracie, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Gulley, died of whooping cough. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved parents.
The Central Record, August 10, 1899

Gulley, Josephine Woolfolk
After an illness of two weeks, Mrs. Robert Gulley passed calmly away Wednesday (Nov. 17, 1926) at 8:30 a. m. at her home on Richmond street in this city.
Mrs. Gulley had been in declining health for several months and while loving friends and relatives who closely watched by her bedside, were expecting the sad intelligence, the realization of her death came as a heavy blow to all who knew her.
Josephine Woolfolk Gulley was born June 25, 1847, being at her death seventy-nine years of age.
On August 13, 1866, she was married to Robert Gulley. For sixty years, she has been a true helpmate to her now, bereaved husband, a long time for two to tread life’s pathway together. To this union, was born three children, Luther, who, 36 years ago, preceded his mother to the Great Beyond; Bessie and Jessie Gulley. She loved her family with an intense and unselfish devotion, being if possible, too self-forgetful and self-sacrificing in their behalf; no labor was too heavy, no care too burdensome for her motherly and devoted heart; and even when the last days of life had come, her anxiety for the welfare of her loved ones was uppermost in her mind. When a grandson, Robert Lillard Gulley, was orphaned in infancy by the death of his mother, though at an advanced age, she tenderly undertook his care, lavishing on him the same affection and solicitude she gave her children. Few with whom she came in contact with, but have had their hearts warmed by the all encompassing interest and gracious hospitality of "Aunt Jo."
For many years, she was one of the most loyal and tireless workers of the Antioch Christian church, but feeling that thereby she could do more for her Master, she affiliated with the local church, wherever she resided, being at her death, a member of the Lancaster Christian church.
Beside her husband, son and daughter, already mentioned, Mrs. Gulley is survived by six devoted grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Jennie Murphy and one brother, J. C. Woolfolk and a host of relatives and friends.
