Wiseman, Edward


Edward “Jack” Wiseman, 70, of Lexington, passed away Friday, November 28, 2003 at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jack was born on October 2, 1933 in Irvine, Kentucky, the son of the late Joseph L. and Sarah B. Finney Wiseman. Mr. Wiseman served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and retired from IBM after 32 years of service and had worked for Kentucky Medical Services Foundation for ten years. He was a graduate of Irvine High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University and was a member of Gardenside Christian Church, he loved Southern Gospel Music and sang in a quartet. Jack was an avid golfer and fisherman and was a jack-of-all-trades, also known as Mr. Fix-it. He is survived by his devoted wife, Bobbie Witt Wiseman; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy W. and Billy Reynolds of Lexington and Julie W. and Barron Rulon of Lexington; his three grandchildren that he adored, Jaclyn Elaine Reynolds, Tabor Elizabeth Rulon and Grayson Eric Rulon; one sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Howard Calmes of Irvine, Kentucky; his mother-in-law, Mrs. R. P. Witt; several sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister, Raymond, Charley, Roy, Christine, Wallace, Lindberg and A.I. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 9 P.M. at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southland. Services will be held on Monday at 1:00 P.M. at Gardenside Christian Church with Reverend Joe Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Irvine, Kentucky. Serving as casket bearers will be Billy B. Wiseman, David Wiseman, Billy Reynolds, Robert Durbin, Larry Wiseman, Barron Rulon. Honorary casket bearers will be Nelson Donaldson, Gary Nelson, Paul Foster, Jim Hellard, Herb Penrod, Ernest Tucker, Phil Bettez and Paul Hill. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Gardenside Christian Church.
