Bonnie Byrd


BYRD, Bonnie Ray Age 68, of Fairfield, passed away at Mercy Mt. Airy on Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. He was born in Estill County, Kentucky on January 2, 1936 the son of Loyd and Rachel (Webb) Byrd. Bonnie was employed as a maintenance supervisor at Mosler Safe Company for 25 years, retiring in 1980. On May 12, 1970 in Jellico, Tennessee he married Michaelene Lattuga. Bonnie was a social member of the VFW Post 1069, member of the Eagles Lodge 3680, Columbia Masonic Lodge in Miamitown, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, Shriners, and he was a Kentucky Colonel. Bonnie enjoyed playing softball, all other sports and was an avid NASCAR fan. He is survived by his wife, Michaelene Byrd of Fairfield; three daughters, Wanda LeMaster and her husband Joe of Hamilton, Patricia Bischoff and her husband Ernest of Middletown, and Kimberly Yeakle of Lehigh Acres, Florida; one brother, Lloyd Byrd, Jr. and his wife Sue of Nevada; five grandchildren, Dennis and Danielle Patrick, and Jesse, Austin, and Rachel LeMaster; and two great-grandchildren, Bethany and Dennis Patrick. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald and Lorhis "Gene" Byrd. Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Elder Frank Smith Jr., Pastor of Primitive Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
