Bill Jan 15 1998 PALMER, PARMER, MELEAR, BROWN, GORDON, MURPHY, SIERS, PERRY Researching the Family of Elisha Parmer b: 1819 in Anderson County, Ky. He married Priscilla Melear b: 1820 in Virginia in Anderson County on October 4, 1837. There children were: 1)Francis Parmer who married Francis Catlett on August 29, 1861-believe both are buried in cemetery on Brown Store Road. 2) Peter Parmer who was married 3 times first wife unknown, 2 wife was Sarah Jane Cinnamon and his 3 wife was Eliza Catlett. 3) Mary E. Parmer who married Louis G. Perry 4) William Parmer who married Almedia F. Murphy on Dec 24, 1860. The family seems to have lived mostly in the Crooked Creek Area of Anderson County, Ky. Armond Clinton Beaty Jan 4 1998 BEATY NELMS ARCH Gr gr grandpa BEATY is missing and I do not know a thing about him except; His wife was Susan NELMS b. 1818, her parents were Rev. John ARCH. and Mary B. NELMS. The Beatys had two sons, John S. BEATY,b.1842 and Thomas William BEATY, b. Feb 4, 1844 in Logan County, Kentucky. The BEATYS and NELMS families moved from Logan County to Peters Colony near Dallas, Texas in about 1846. A plague broke out and Susan and her infant son died. Gr gr grandpa and his inlaws, the NELMS' moved to near Ector, in Fannin County Texas. Gr gr grandpa BEATY left his two boys with the NELMS family and went somewhere and married again, for he fathered at least one other son, Lewallyn B. BEATY, b. 1862. Shelly Oct 11 1997 TINDAL/TINNEL/TAYLOR/SIMPSON/HUSBAND. Samuel Tindal married Mary Taylor both born about 1851 they lived in and around Taylorsville KY. Sam's son, John Robert Tindal was born July 4, 1871 Taylorsville KY. John married Thursa Jane Tinnel in Taylorsville KY on October 4,1893. John and Thursa moved to MN in about 1920, and I believe that the rest of the family remained in the Taylorsville KY area. Other children of Sam and Mary are Eva (Tindal) Husband, Doan (Tindal)Simpson, and Mose Tindal. Tindal name spelling my be Tindel, or Tindle also. Lorna R. Mullins Sep 5 1997 CUMMIN(G)S: I am looking for, but not limited to, the birth records of Sanford Cummings, who I believe was born in Franklin County, KY about 1816. He was the son of Mathew CUMMINGS and Martha ASKINS I would appreciate any information which you might have on Matthew CUMMING(S), Jr. or Sr. and also on John ASKINS who was the father of Martha Askins Cummins. Mathew CUMMINS, Jr. was born in Virginia, but was living in KY in 1809 as I have been led to believe he married Martha ASKINS there on December 16, 1809. I am not sure about the county, but have been led to believe it might be Franklin County. Mathew Cummins, Sr. probably did not live in Franklin County, but records show he died in Anderson County, KY 8 August, 1833. If anyone can supply information on these families or their origins, I would appreciate hearing.

Jim Admire 20 May 1997 Interested in the ancestors and descendants of Arthur McGAUGHEY, born circa 1769 in Ireland, died after 1860. Several of his seven children married into the THACKER family. Arthur's brother, Daniel was born in Ireland. He had at least six children and died about 1843 in Anderson Co.

Pam Carey Durstock 19 May 1997 GIBSON I've been trying to solve the puzzle of who Joseph GIBSON's (b. abt 1835) parents were, and where he was born. He married Hannah Gibson (rel. unknown) on Dec 8, 1852 in Mercer Co. The marriage consent lists only his mother - Nancy J. Gibson. Joseph's son William's death certificate lists Joseph's place of birth as Anderson County. These are the only clues I have. Does anyone have any information on a GIBSON marriage, wife's name Nancy, sometime before 1835 in Anderson Co.? Joseph is my 3g-grandfather, and I'm stuck. Actually, any Gibson information will be welcome. I have much to share, but need these pieces.

Barbara Whiteside Apr 3 1997 Looking for information on Jennie MONTFORT SATTERWHITE JENSEN of Alton, near Lawrenceburg. Her actual given name was Martha Jane, daughter of David and Mary Cook Montfort. There were 2 marriages, the first to a Satterwhite, possibly Jeff Satterwhite, the second to Seren Jensen, Jennie Jensen died in 1927 and is buried at the old Lawrenceburg Cemetary in Anderson Co. Her obituary states that she taught school in Anderson and Shelby Counties, Ky. Her siblings include: James Francis; Lorinda [first wife of Judge James POSEY of Lawrenceburg]; Israel Christopher [called Chris and also a schoolteacher in same areas as his sister]; William B. [married Dorah McCALL and moved to Oklahoma]; and my great grandmother, Nancy Elizabeth Montfort who married Zack TAYLOR in 1872. I would like to know where Jennie lived in or near Alton. I have reason to believe there is a small family cemetary on the farm. My father had an older brother who died at the age of 3 and was buried there. I'd like to know more about Israel Christopher, did he marry? Have children? Does anyone know where in Oklahoma, William and Dorah would have settled? Does anyone know anything of Zack Taylor's family? I believe they may have been from Shelby County and his parents were John and Pauline ? Taylor.I also am seeking the dates of death and where buried on David W. and Mary Cook Montfort. Both were living in 1870. I would appreciate any information on the Montfort family, they were among the early settlers in Ky., coming in with the Low Dutch Colony. Charles and wife Emma (maiden name unknown) are shown in the 1880 census of Anderson Co. in Camdenville. Both were shown as born in Kentucky, but I do not know where. Listed with them in a son Thomas H. KIRKLAND, I know that the H. stands for Hudson. Family members "think" that the family was from Mayfield, Graves Co., Ky., but I have been unable to connect them there. Charles and family moved to Florida and show up there in 1900 census. William Thomas YATES m1915 to Jesse DARNELL, daughter of Luther Milton DARNELL b1863 d1924 and Minerva Malvena COX b1866 d1935. The DARNELL's and COX's were from ANDERSON county KY, so I'm wondering if the YATES were also? Any information would be of great help.

Dana M. Craig Mar 3 1997 Looking for information on John W. CRAIG, who appears in 1830 census index for Woodford County. Had sons William and Frederick and one daughter, name unknown. A William Craig also shows up in the census index. I'm waiting for the actual census records at this time. Trying to determine, for John and William, wife's names, where John was before 1830, names of other children of John, and identity of his parents. I believe the middle initial stands for "Wesley" or "Westley". It appears that they may both have moved to Anderson County shortly after the census and owned/acquired land there along Gilbert Creek. Land records from Anderson County establish that William's son, Lindsey Craig, inherited some of this land.

Sandra Oxner Looking for info on a Florence TANNER. I do not know her first husband's name but I suspect it was John. She had children Julia and John before he died. She married my grandfather in 1897 but I do not know in what county. She died in childbirth in Jun 1898--again I do not know what county. The baby was named Florence CARTER but died when about 3 mos old. Florence Tanner married John Henry CARTER in 1897.

John Robertson James E. ROBERTSON born Ky. about 1802 married about 1830 to Eveline ALLEN or ALLENSWORTH. Three sons Alford, John P. born 1835 and Richard. Eveline died before 1840 census. James next married widow Elizabeth BURTON HARRISON of Shelby Co. and they had three sons. James is on Anderson 1850 through 1870 census. John P. after civil war went to Edgar Co., Ill married Margaret SHANK. They had 10 children.

Ron Locke I have a couple of ancestors buried in Messer Cemetery; Joseph MESSER & Martha Ann LOCK d. 24 Nov 1875; and Issac MESSER & Nancy E. LOCK d. 9 Jul 1906. I thought the cemetery to be in or near Anderson Co., KY as that is where the family was, but I'm not certain. Does anyone know the location of the Messer Cemetery and if there are records of it published somewhere? Also looking for Robert LOCK's, b. 12 Oct 1798, parents. He married Mary HOLEMAN, b. 27 Jul 1798, in Mercer Co. 21 Jul 1821. Most of their children were born in Anderson Co. and it appears the family lived in KY until the Mid 1800s when they left for IL. I have searched Anderson and Mercer Co's without luck. Grasping at straws, I'm wondering if maybe they came from Lincoln Co. before it became Mercer Co. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Vernon Purvis My great-grandmother, Nancy Ellen SPURR, married either a George or Will THACKER sometime around 1880. Nancy was from Owen county. In the Anderson county census of 1880 there is a Will THACKER married to a Nancy. Could this be them? They had at least two children. Born around 1885 were Rosa Zella THACKER who died in 1949 and her twin Richard, who died at birth. George/Will THACKER was most likely dead by 1888 when she remarried to Ben PURVIS. Anyone in Anderson county or studying the THACKERs have any information on this?

Robert E. LaFoe Looking for any info on the LaFOE's and SAMUEL's in Woodford County. Zachariah LaFOE married Emily SAMUELS 9-20-1821 in Caroline County, Virginia but on 4-30-1833, Zach, Emily and a James SAMUELS purchased 94 acres on the Kentucky River at the end of what is now Watts Ferry Road. The family owned the land until it was sold by William and Selena LaFOE HALL in the early 1900's. Can not find if James SAMUELS was Emily's father or not, and found an Elizabeth that lived a couple miles north of the LaFOE's along the river that could be her mother. A number of the family still lives in the Versailles area. Any help or info would be much appreciated.
